For those interested in the technical aspects of the Kombi, it was converted and sold as a camper by VW Australia in 1978. It is powered by the original 2 litre air cooled motor feed via standard twin carburettors.
The interior has been modified to accommodate a full width R&R bed. Two passenger seat belts were also added to increase practicality.

The green VW Kombi is used as the work horse of the Point Restaurant on Currumbin Beach carrying catering supplies and other essentials.
It can be seen mostly when not in use parked opposite the Point Restaurant, near the magnificent and renowned bronze statue of the Bikini Lady.

Kombi (and owners Kevin & Lyn) are members of the Gold Coast Dub Club. It is an active licenced club that meets your VW needs be it cruises, car shows or just times to catch up. For the local members its a good way to meet people with common interests.
